Stair sections (class work)

Second Draft Section (with stairs)

The client for which the top section is intended for is Steinway and Sons. The theme i chose was 'compose'. The alternating black and white patches on the floor represent the keys on the piano whilst the irregular ground contours represent the sporadic nature of composing music. The stairs leading down from here are light, almost floating, and are intertwined. The interlocked stairs represent different paths that can be taken during this composure of music and the 'floating' effect emphasizes the state of trance one experiences when playing music.
The bottom section is intended for Revival Cycles/ The theme i chose was 'freedom', representing the free spirited nature and raw passion one can experience when riding a bike. This is emphasized by the shape of the workplace representing the statue of liberty, and the smooth open floor. The stairs go from smaller to larger as you go up, so as you go further up, there is more space to stand. This represents that as you become more free from the hum drum of society, you experience an increase in self growth.

These are my final designs.I chose to stick to the same themes as my previous model but i changed the way in which i thought about 3D space.

Original Photograph of something Beautiful

This is a panoramic photo i took while I was in Shanghai. It depicts the city's beautiful skyline and its overall vibrancy.

Great piece of Architecture

This is the "Fallingwater Building" by Frank Lloyd Wright. I believe this is great as the building is at one with it's surroundings.

Picture of Artwork prior to arch1101

This is a pastel still-life artwork i completed in my final year of school. Rather than capturing the shape of the objects, i tried to capture the way light falls on all these objects
